The arts center cares about your health and safety, therefore all campers and staff are required to wear facial masks. Ready to expand on the basic drawing skills you have already learned? In this class you will get to practice using more advanced techniques to create a more realistic piece of artwork. In this drawing course we work with a range of techniques and dry media. The class is designed as a series of sequential projects, building on fundamental drawing principles such as proportion, scale, value and perspective. Students are introduced to common media utilized to complete drawings. Students also gain understanding and knowledge of space, light and composition while learning to "see" in a manner that translates the subject into a drawing or painting.

Campers will learn basic sewing to create their own fashion runway look,  designing a personal fashion brand and a line of creative accessories. We will take their skills to the next level with different fabric designs. Students will learn to embroider bags, tie dye fabric, and paint items to create their own textile designs!

Sewing Design Studio: Owl Backpack Grades 3rd-7th July 27-31

Learn the proper use of the sewing machine, threading the machine, winding bobbins, using notions, fabric types, sewing terms, pattern reading, body measuring, measuring/cutting fabric, etc. Bring your machine to learn on or reserve a $20.00 rental. To reserve a rental, text 404-625-3709 after you sign up for the camp. You'll pay the instructor for the rental on the first day of camp. All other materials for the class are provided.

Stop Motion Animation Grades 4th-6th Johns Creek Arts Center Location July 27-31

We'll design your character, build it, and then storyboard a short action sequence. Next, we'll spend a day animating that short scene, then post it on Youtube to share with your friends.

Teen Clay Wheel Grades 7th-12th Johns Creek Arts Center Location July 27-31

Learn how to throw on the wheel to make fun and functional ceramic pieces!  Teens will learn the techniques needed to create ceramic dishware as well as handbuilt clay sculptures.  The pieces will be fired in a kiln and then students will learn different glazing and painting techniques to create truly unique ceramics.

Learn how to create fun, decorative, and functional clay projects!  Students will explore fundamental clay skills like pinch, coil, and slab to build their own ceramic creations.  They will then learn glazing and surface decorating techniques to finish off their one-of-a-kind creations!
