Summer Serendipity 2022 Art Exhibition 

August 20 – September 10, 2022

The Johns Creek Arts Center is seeking submissions for Summer Serendipity 2022, our annual multi-media art exhibition. This juried, onsite exhibition is open to the public and will be presented live at the Johns Creek Arts Center as well as displayed virtually in our online gallery. Artists 18 and over may enter up to three works for a single, non-refundable entry fee of $35. Cash awards will be presented for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, as well as several sponsor awards. A Mayor’s Award and 2 Honorable Mentions will also be awarded. 

Juror: Betti Pettinate-Longinotti. Ms. Pettinate-Longinotti has a BFA from the Maryland Institute, College of Art, and a MFA from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia. She works primarily in drawing, painting and flat glass. Learn more about our juror by visiting her website: at 

Important dates: 

-Artwork Submission Deadline: July 15th by 4pm 

-Artist Notification of Selection: by 5pm July 29, 2022 

– Artwork Drop-off Dates: August 15 – 17, 10am – 4pm

– Exhibition Dates: August 20 – September 10, 2022 – Please note our gallery will be closed on Labor Day, September 5th 

– Artwork Pickup Dates: September 12 – 14, 2022 during regular office hours, 9 – 5 M-F & 10-2 Sat 



-Only original artwork will be accepted and must have been completed within the last three years.  Works must not have been exhibited at JCAC within the last three years. 

-Eligible media include mixed media, ceramics, drawings, fiber art, printmaking, painting, collage, photography and sculpture. 

-2D Work: Maximum framed size is not to exceed 42” x 42” outside dimensions and cannot weigh more than 25 lbs. For the safety of our staff and guests, works on paper should be framed using acrylic or Plexiglas only. Works must arrive ready to hang with wire appropriate for size, weight, frame type and structure. Sawtooth hangers are not recommended.  Unframed canvases are eligible for acceptance if they are back-stapled, edges painted and include hanging wire. 

-3D Work: Entries may not exceed 18” x 18” x 18” in size or 50 lbs. in weight. 

-ALL ACCEPTED ARTWORK MUST ARRIVE WITH A LEGIBLE IDENTIFICATION LABEL AFFIXED (for 2D work) and / or accompanied by (for 3D work). Label should include: artist name, title and price or NFS. 


-Fill out and submit the entry form below. 

-Images must be in a .jpeg / .jpg / .png format, with a minimum size of 72dpi and 1000 pixels in either direction.  Please include your initials in the in the name of your image file, ie: AA_Title.jpg 

-Images of artwork must be submitted via email to , please include Summer Serendipity in the subject line.

Call for Participation 

High Honors: Middle and High School Art Exhibition 

June 8th – July 8th, 2022 

The Johns Creek Arts Center is seeking submissions for High Honors, a multi-media art competition and exhibition open to middle and high school students in Fulton, Forsyth and Gwinnett counties. This annual competition, now in its fourth year, celebrates the tremendous creativity and talent of the young artists in our community. The dates for the exhibition are June 8th through July 8th 2022. High Honors is a judged competition. Each entrant may submit up to three artworks and every entrant will have at least one work accepted for the exhibition. There will be two $100 cash awards for the Best of Show Middle School and Best of Show High School artworks. There will also be Johns Creek Art Center gift certificates and recognition ribbons awarded for this exhibition. In recognition of different levels of artistic development middle school and high school students will be judged separately. High Honors will be presented both onsite and as a virtual exhibition on our website using the Wondergrid Gallery platform.

    • Each artist is allowed to submit up to 3 images of original works. Send all submissions via email to the curator, Althea Foster at with High Honors in the subject line. 
    • Acceptable media include drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media, fiber art, jewelry and digital art. If you have a question about the suitability of a medium contact Althea Foster at . 
    • All entry files (regardless of type or media) must be named with artist’s last name followed by the title (for example: Smith_Thisismypainting.jpg) 
    • Image files should be in HIGH QUALITY .jpeg (.jpg or .png) format, images should be no smaller than 1000 pixels in any direction (about 13”) and be a 72dpi. 
    • Works may be for sale or not for sale. Artists receive 75% of the selling price of work sold during the exhibition. JCAC retains 25%.
