If you are the kind of person who has whole worlds and casts of characters living in your mind, this is the class is for you. We'll explore behavioral psychology and Jungian archetypes to help create believable characters that can drive your story forward, then move on to creating compelling and convincing settings. We'll end the class with a discussion on story structure to help plan your own narrative.
Students will end the class with several writing samples and all the pre-writing they need to get their novel masterpiece started.
*As a part of the curriculum we will be watching the PG-13 film "Mean Girls" as an example of how to translate Jungian archetypes and Mythic Structure in a modern-setting comedy story.
The arts center cares about your health and safety, therefore, masks are required for all students and staff.
