Students will enjoy working from a live model and photographs using the medium of their choice. However, instructor demos will be done in charcoal and oil. We will work from a model for 3 weeks out of 5, and work from photographs of the model for the weeks in between. We will discuss human proportion, portraiture techniques, and basic photography techniques as we hone our rendering skills working from life and our own photographs.

Each class with the model present will begin with 20 minutes of gesture drawing, and will conclude with students taking their own photographs to use in the next class and beyond.

There will be a shared model fee between $30-60 (cash only) due on the first class. This will cover our model expenses for 3 classes. This is not an appropriate class for beginner level artists.
