Students learn to use the study of existing animal anatomy, biology, and ecology to develop unique, but believable, imaginary creatures. Students learn the process of developing exploratory sketches, researching and using references, and creating multi-angled reference sheets of their creature designs. This class challenges students to use what they already know about how animals interact with environments on Earth to design creatures that could survive in a fantasy or science fiction setting, and give them one more reason to love their biology classes!
