Join instructor Amanda Jones for an exciting evening of history and experimentation in the ancient art of Encaustic Wax painting! Amanda recently won First Place in the 2021 Members Show at Johns Creek Arts Center, for her Encaustic work. Encaustic Wax painting was the paint developed for use on the Sarcophagi in Egypt 2500 years ago. It is manipulated using heat, such as a blow torch or heat gun. Encaustic Wax is a wonderfully flexible medium suitable for a variety of technique applications including mixed media as an example. Come try it! It's HOT!
