“Breaking Ground: Innovations in Printmaking,” presented in collaboration with SCAD Atlanta, is an exhibition of the wide range of techniques in the printmaking field. SCAD students, staff, and alumni explore a variety of themes and ideas through ink impressions in this expressive collection.
Techniques on display include monoprint, serigraphy, lithography, photogravure, linocut, woodcut, and etching. Several of the works push the boundaries of printmaking by incorporating mixed media techniques such as collage and sewing, while others examine innovative themes within their work.
The exhibit runs from March 13th-April 21st and is free and open to the public. Join us on April 1st for our opening reception from 6:30 PM-8:00 PM. The reception is free to attend, and refreshments will be provided.
In conjunction with the exhibition, Robert Brown, Chair of Printmaking at SCAD, will be conducting a workshop from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM on April 1st. The workshop will cover the basic techniques of screen printing, or serigraphy. The workshop is limited to 15 seats. Pre-registration is required, and the cost to attend is $15. Lunch is provided.
